I have avoided this surgery with natural methods. 80-90% improvement in my nasal congestion which used to be at least 3/4 of my day. 1. Taking beet root powder every day, opens my nose within 10-15 minutes. 2. Removing seed oils from diet and eating healthier foods(a lot of organic) 3. Removing harmful detergents and other household products 4. Exercise Do your own research! Take control of your health. Good luck!
This pain 😩
I regret getting my adenoids removed with my tonsillectomy (age 24) because now I can’t breathe while swallowing or I end up swallowing a bunch of air or sucking water into my lungs. If I knew that would happen I wouldn’t have gotten them removed.
I got my tonsils and adenoids out a few years ago when I was 24 because I kept getting tonsillitis and strep. Idk why, but ever since the surgery I can’t breathe and swallow at the same time and I was able to before! it really sucks because I keep accidentally swallowing air or accidentally sucking water into my lungs. If I knew this was going to happen I wouldn’t have gotten my adenoids taken out too. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know why?
I want this surgery so bad!😢😢😢😢
I’m in my second week post op Also had my uvula removed 35yo male Day 1-3 pain is so high 10/10 when attempting to swallow, which makes taking the many medications very difficult. Didn’t even think about eating, just sleep when you can to ease the pain. Waking up with horrible taste in mouth and pain is even worse when waking up Day 4 - admitted to hospital emergency as i was not taking in any fluids. Received an IV drip for dehydration Day 5-7- feeling a little better, pain when swallowing is now around 6-7/10 but at this point I’ve already lost about 6kgs of body weight from not being able to eat/drink properly Day 8 - admitted to hospital once more this time for hyperventilation and loss of balance. Once again received IV drip Day 9-now (15) - pain has largely subsided but an even worse issue has been present; constant saliva production of the wound is spilling into my sinus and causing me to vomit on a daily basis which if you are like me and hate vomitting, it’s worse than the pain.
I’m on day 4 and the pain is terrible. So glad my doc gave me pain meds. I coughed up a staple yesterday surrounded by a scab so my f/u is 7 days instead of 14.
Dr, Thank you for the instructions
I had mine removed as a kid, thanks for posting.
Appreciate the information doc. My kids both 4 and 7 years old had their tonsils and Addenoids removed a week ago. It's been rough! They have the yellow patches and really bad breath. Eating food has been a struggle too!
I have a red line, looks like a vein, along the septum, on the opposite of the turbinate. Please tell me what that is?

Do adults really need that I mean the ear canal diameter is more than enought for drainage.. during medieval times or maybe during ancient times they just blow their nose
Hello Doc... I used ear drop in my ears and lay down for an hour after that when i get up theres no liquid coming out is that okay if the ears absorb the ear drop is that normal or safe?
Thank you! Our son is going in for an adenoidectomy later this week and this is extremely helpful info.
Hello.. I just wanna ask if it's normal to lose a taste of appetite after operation,? Thank you
I had ear tubes twice
My niece is 5, and avid thumb sucker and is in the small one percent, has been in twice for cauterizing and needed a blood transfusion on round two, anybody know if possibly the suction from thumb sucking the cause?! She’s still not out of the woods, was sent home yesterday morning, we all watching her like a hawk.
I wonder if the nephew has sleep issues, mouth breathing, dental issues, or needed braces.
I bled out of my mind to the point of passing out and ending up in the emergency room and getting an emergency surgery to stitch my walls. I was in the hospital for two weeks, i should’ve never had this surgery
I had septoplasty but still get sometimes congestion and one maxillary sinuses is large.
Thank you! Getting mine end of this month and can’t wait to not get ear block easily anymore

Dude I got my surgery 2 days back... It hurts alot, I wake up with severe pain. But thanks to the pain killer it's not the worst. And yes ice cream and ice stuff sounds like a delight, like you would assume you get to eat ice creams and enjoy. It sucks lol. My throat hurts swallowing and my taste buds are all gone so I don't taste anything
Nah mine was 45 min. I had tonsils and adenoids removed
My doctor told me I’m not supposed to experience bleeding. If I do I have to call
I feel abandoned, I've suffered with this my whole life only to find out now at 40 that it can be easily corrected. Jesus. Great information, thanks very much doc
This make feel so better I am going to the hospital tomorrow morning because I just checked now is like my 4 months old has tongue tie because she can’t breast feed well she always vomit immediately after breastfeeding her pediatrician when they control them they don’t check their mouth properly I have been very bothered about this I am rushing to the hospital tomorrow morning for them to remove it because I don’t want anything that will affect her speech in the future
How long should the nasal rinsing continue? Weeks? Months?
If my son is 7 is it too late to do it? is there any literature for me to read about it?
Is it necessary to do surgery
saw a video where a guy used a debruter to cut out all of it
I am a twelve year old girl who has had their tonsillectomy today and here are my thoughts. Eating and drinking and even swallowing your spit is horrible. The pain is quite bad but hydrating is most important. If you dont hydrate, the scabs in your mouth will crack from dryness which will lead to bleeding which indicates your mouth is extremely dry. Have some liquids to hydrate but if bleeding doesn’t stop, head to the hospital that you had the procedure done. It is most important to keep hydrated overnight so I recommend you have a bottle of water with you at all times.
I’m here in recovery with my daughter and she hates it …in absolute pain.. and then the other kids I hear crying breaks my heart… but I know this will help all the ailments that she currently have.
what is the cause if bilateral vocal fold bowing in the age of 30? Any solution for this?
My daughter has very large tonsils, but never had any trouble other than apnea. Would the PIT procedure be something to ask for, or just stick with full removal?
i was on like day 7 eating sour foods, noodles, spicy things, sodas, it took me 9 days to feel normal my pain killers was provin 400mg
What about giving a child a bath after Tonsils surgery?
Does FESS surgery has risk of causing blindness?
For adults it's easy to treat symptoms after grommets surgery, but smaller children, age 1yr, cannot explain wat they feel!! So wat symptoms must parents look for and how can it be treated? Would the child loose her appetite? Altitude sometimes block our ears, adults do different things to unblock! Obviously, the child can feel there's something in her ear and try to take it out, by using the finger, won't that cause infection in the outer ear, which could spread into the inner ear, rem childrens fingers are not always clean! How long will a one year old child, take to heal, adjust and go back to her usual playful ways? Thanks.
I have been dealing with eustachean tube dysfunction and experiencing hearing loss that I figure must be tied to that. Last week I went in to an ENT and we started the procedure for installing an ear tube, he asked if my hearing had gotten better after he made the incision. I told him it got worse, which it did, but some of this could be due to the position my body was in. I have noticed that short term hearing loss has occurred with me if I lay down or if I sleep. Sometimes if I sleep in a chair, I do not experience this. I am very concerned that either something is being overlooked that could be treated and also that what I will experience is permanent or long term hearing loss. It terrifies me honestly.
